Hello lovely people, this is Stephanie Timmins from Fashion & Lifestyle Blog : Feisty Fox Diaries and I am very delighted to be writing a guest post for Gingersnaps.
Today's Outfit Post is a blend of two super chic Summer 2013 trends : Aztec Prints and Stripes. I wore this very interesting Monochrome Aztec Print Peplum Top with a Peach Horizontal Stripe Skirt. I accessorised the Ensemble with a Peach Belt (matching the skirt), a Turquoise and Silver Statement Neckpiece with super trendy dangling Spikes, some black and white hand beads, a Neutral Snakeskin Texture Handbag in beige, brown and white and White Ankle Strap Peep Toes.
Aztec Trend
I love bold pattern play of this Aztec Print Peplum Top I'm wearing. The Aztec style originates from Mexico and was influenced by a long history of tribes. It made its debut on the modern runway way back in 2009 at the Matthew Williamson spring/summer show. In the fashion world, Aztec prints have become the style du jour among the trendy and hip. Known for their daring colour combinations with black outlines, bold geometrical shapes like triangles and circles, lots of strong colours and a mix of patterns and lines. These fearless prints have become a dominant theme in fashion runways all around the world.
Styling Tips for the Aztec Trend:
When wearing a tribal print, your look is instantly trendy. These fashion-forward pieces give you street-style flair with a cultured edge. This look stirs up dreams of far-off lands and ancient civilizations. Incorporating a few statement patterns will add a new dimension to your fashion sense.
1.If you aren't sure how to incorporate it into your wardrobe, think Classic. Balance Aztec prints with simple silhouettes and clean lines. Opt for classic shapes and styles like shifts or mini dresses, totes and flats. You can also pair the vivid prints with neutrals like black and white.
2.Aztec prints look brilliant with faux fur, leather and suede, which give body and balance to this heavy print.
3.The print itself is catchy enough, so keep the accessories muted and to the minimal to avoid looking tacky. When adding accessories, look for a subtle colour in the print and bring in out in your earrings or necklace. It will instantly add a pop of colour to your outfit.
4.Combine this trend with solid colours, that can anchor the look.

Stripes Revolution
This summer is all about Stripes, horizontal, vertical, wide or thin, black and white or in living colour, stripes make a graphic statement.
Styling Tips for Stripes
1. You don´t need to be super skinny to look good in stripes all you need to do is find the right kind of stripes for your body type and they can even make you look thinner. Remember if you have a wide back do not distort the shape of the line, skip super fitted pieces and wear loose outfits with stripes.
The key to wearing stripes in the real world is to always wear just one print matched with a solid. For example, a vertically striped blouse looks great with white trousers or jeans. Vertically striped pants or skirts can make you look taller and in style when worn with a solid-coloured tee.
2. Accessorise it: Fashion is all about accessorizing, you can wear the simplest outfit but if you know how to combine it you will be always trending! Look for fabulous pieces like belts, simple tops with rhinestones, bracelets and jewellery.
3. Try to combine your stripes with something simpler, for example; a wide horizontal stripes skirt with a one coloured simple top and a bow belt. Play with the items in your closet.
4. Recycle your own: If you have stripes lurking in the back of the closet -- perhaps a scarf, a belt, a skirt, or a jacket -- just pull it out and give it another season of love. All stripes are good stripes, the bolder the better, and any direction or colour will do. Black and white, of course, is especially on trend this year.
I Accessorised my look with this Edgy Statement Neckpiece in Silver and Turquoise Blue with dangling spikes.
I wore some too Arm Candy, Black and Pearl hand beads to go with my Monochrome Top.
My look was complete with my favourite Guess handbag in Snakeskin Texture, a current hot trend and my Summer Staple White Ankle Strap Peep Toe Heels.
