I like to take my own sweet time to meticulously choose my ensembles. And then come the days where I have to make a dash to a get-together or a celebration right after work, and I am left with no time to get ready. For days like these, here are a few ways I modify my day look into a night look. Read along if you would like to know some quick fixes to change your look when you are running out of time.
- Add a statement
piece of jewelry to your outfit. Bling it up with these sparkle street earrings, a bold necklace or
a wide cuff. And of course when it comes to accessorizing, the rule is to
not go overboard.
- Amp up your look
instantly by applying a bold color to your pout. Try my beloved Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in the shade Standout (a deep berry red) for a
fuss free color that will stay for hours. Another red that I always keep
handy to transform my look is Lakme 9 to 5’s Flaming Function.
- Switch your flats
for a pair of pumps. A good pair of heels can even dress up the most
casual outfit. I have heard (but not yet tried) of shoes with interchangeable heels
to furnish the needs of women on the go. Now wouldn’t these be a
lifesaver?
- Assess the
temperament of your hair and see if it would be better to tie it up or let
it down. 9 out of 10 times, I leave my hair open for a night out. But if
your hair has decided to betray you and there is no time to whip out that
straightening iron, pulling your hair back into a chic and elegant bun
will help you put your look together. Keep a travel friendly bottle of
hair serum or hair wax in your bag to take care of the strays.
- And finally if I
still have a few minutes in hand and I am feeling extra fancy, I go ahead
and work on my eye makeup. Here is a fantastic tutorial for quick smokey eyes that you can create with
the help of a pencil eyeliner, brown eye shadow and mascara in less than 5
minutes (with a little practice of course.)
