Last Sunday when my friend Pankhuri and I decided to catch up, we planned to give her hair a makeover with BBLUNT’s recently launched at-home hair colour range: BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour. This range of hair-colours is available in 7 shades: Coffee, Mahogany, Blueberry, Honey, Wine, Black and Chocolate. Pankhuri had never coloured her hair before and wanted a subtle shade of red, which is why we decided to go with the shade 4.20 Wine which is Deep Burgundy in colour.
What the product says:
While all other hair colours leave your hair dull, this revolutionary at-home hair colour gives you soft, shiny hair and colour that lasts up to 4 to 6 weeks. Specially created for Indian skin tones, this no ammonia hair colour gives 100% grey coverage, lasts long and is available in 7 blockbuster shades. This 3-part hair colour comes with a unique Shine Tonic, enriched with Silk Proteins that give salon like gorgeous hair at-home!
Some points to keep in mind before colouring your hair:
It is recommended to perform a skin hypersensitivity test 48 hours before the usage of hair colour. Wear something you don’t mind getting stained, although this hair colour has a non-drip formula so nothing to worry about. Apply petroleum jelly along your hairline, on your ears and the nape of your neck. This will prevent the colour from staining your skin. Do not bring anything metallic in contact with your hair colour, no metallic bowl, hairpin or brush. Okay?
Now, I have way too much experience colouring my hair, so I decided to take the matter into my hands. Amongst other factors that one may consider while choosing a hair colour, the most important would be to choose a colour according to your skin tone. The rule of thumb is to pick a colour that flatters your complexion, i.e. a tone that's opposite to your skin tone. So those with warm undertones might opt for a cooler colour and vice versa. If you have a neutral undertone, you're a lucky one - any shade would look great on you.
This hair colour range has certainly given us 7 gorgeous shades to choose from, but what is even better is that the BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour is especially designed to suit Indian skin tones. So rest assured, you can go ahead and be blunt by choosing any of these 7 shades you had always wanted in your wild dreams without a worry.
The BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour box contains a tube each of Colourant, Shine Tonic and Developer, 1 pair of disposable gloves and an instructions leaflet. I highly recommend that you go through the instructions thoroughly before proceeding. I mixed the Colourant, Developer and Shine Tonic in a bowl and mixed it till I got an even consistency. Then I divided Pankhuri’s hair into parts and applied the hair colour on individual sections using a tinting brush. Once I made sure that the hair colour was applied evenly, I tied her hair in a bun. For the shade Wine, it is suggested that we keep on the colour for 45 minutes, so we made coffee and waited!
Then Pankhuri used a little water to emulsify her hair colour for 5 minutes, after which she ran water through her hair till the water ran clean and proceeded to shampoo and condition as usual. How did the colour turn out? Well have a look at it yourself:
“Nothing in a long time has been as effortlessly beautiful as this colour. Surprisingly it turned out to be exactly as I had wanted. Very subtle, visible only at the right time *wink*”
So what do you think ladies, which BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour would you pick to shine on?
